A sad day for the ventriloquist world

Well I was on my usual Friday check out; checking out whats new on all the ventriloquist makers blogs and sites when I went to Mr D's (Clinton Detweiler's) when I saw this message.... "It is with heavy hearts we inform you that Clinton Detweiler passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 22, 2013" It was post from his daughter to let us know the bad news of his passing.

It very much saddens me to hear the loss of a very talented and loved ventriloquist puppet maker.. He did the work we all love for many many years and he will be greatly missed. May he be in heaven looking down smiling upon us all.  In memory of Mr Detweiler may his memory last forever of his work and friendship to us all. Please say a pray for his family.

Working!!!

Well I have been working the full time job and trying to work on the new ventriloquist puppet when I have the time... I still don't have any pictures but wanted to post tonight some of the progress!

When I took him out of the mold he had A LOT of fix ups to do on him... His neck looked as though I didn't put any magic sculpt on it so I had to completely hand sculpt that area. Then the head looked as though it was caving in at places so I had to sand, then sand some more, then sand even more!!!  It has been a nightmare in a way! Then on top of that my eyes started swelling like I am having an allergic reaction to the magic sculpt!  Now that is the nightmare because I refuse to quit doing the puppets! It looks like I will always have swollen eye lids at the bottom like a hound dog's eyes that sags, or I will be permanently on the allergy medicine! If you find a hobby that you love you refuse to give up on it until you just have to and I have a lot of puppets that I am going to make!!!  Maybe tomorrow I will post some pictures for you to see on the progress of the new puppet! He is going to be an original!

Been REALLY busy!

Sorry I've been away so long.... I've started a new job and was trying to get use to it.... Today I started working on a puppet and decided that I was going to work on building another Sammy puppet since there was so many people who bid on him on E-bay!
Of course I'm going to modify it make it different with maybe some hair and a different look to him and maybe bigger ears! He is still in the mold drying so I will work on him as much as I can and let you know all the progress as I go along! I made a new set of hands as well but everything is in the molds! If I get to work on him tomorrow I will take some pictures and post them for you to see!
